Home at last!

Some very nice friends that M works with let us stay at their house Thursday and Friday nights. So rather than the dinner we planned for Valentine's Day, we took their family to Red Robin because we thought the wait would be shorter than at a romantic restaurant.

We went to two birthday party events on Saturday...one at the house we stayed at the two nights before (where there was an AMAZING balloon guy - he could make just about anything...I have never seen anything like it) and one at a pizza restaurant that night. All three kids celebrating birthdays were in the same family (cousins) so we saw the same people at the house and at the pizza place. It was a fun time!

Max's week and weekend

  • We tried to stay away from the house where we were staying on Saturday since they were going to have so much family in town for the birthday party. So while we were running errands, we stopped by the movie theater to find out what was playing. We took Max up to the ticket window with us. He hardly ever barks, but he barked at this lady as we passed her on our way to the ticket window and then again on our way back to the car. It was odd.
  • We took Max for a walk at a park this weekend where we saw several dogs. He really enjoys seeing (and smelling) other dogs. We met two other puppies and saw several other labs. We walked up a hill, and Max almost fell off the other side which was a cliff. He just walked right over it. M had to grab his collar and pull him up. It was surprising that he would just walk over it like that. I thought animals had a sense about those things.
  • Max has discovered that he can drink out of the toilet.

Oh no - not the toilet water! I'm glad you're back home with nice like-new floors. What a sweet family to let y'all stay with them for a couple of days! As for Max, that's crazy that he was going to walk right over the cliff. I tell ya...that boy needs a little fear injected into him. :) The park sounds like it was fun, though.

Toilet water is not all that bad. Usually nice and cool and clean if it has been recently flushed. Unless it has one of those blue tablets in it, then it tastes all nasty and turns your tongue blue.
